+ The difference between a wedding photographer and (15/03/2009 - 17:04:38)
+ New look site (04/03/2009 - 16:24:28)
I have been getting a few enquieries about cheep wedding photography, mainly ending in the sentence "If your to expensive my mate's going to do it for free" well I have created a value base pack now my bronze is £400/£650 the new value base is £275/£375 you will get less with the value base but if you want good value go for it.
The difference between a wedding photographer and a friend doing your wedding is simple with a professional wedding photographer you get a fully polished product and fantastic photo's with a friend you get a hit and miss unpolished result. I know from excperiance that someone who is normally compitant with a camera will not get the results you require on the day. With a pro photographer you get there creative knowlage a friend might keep the camera in full auto mode, they might not have a DSLR but a compact camera. Lets be honest would you trust your friend to do the photos on the most special day of your life if they mess it up it's not worth thinking about, I am now doing 2 hours coverage and a CD with 50 hires photos for£275 weekdays and £375 weekends and up until may 30th you get 10 7x5 photos in card mounts all professionally taken. So I would say that it is well worth employing a pro photographer.
My experience of a friend doing the photography was at my twins christerning. A friend I had known for well over 15 years and a good amateur photographer said he would take the photos, so I spent a day training him with my DSLR. He seemed very confident and so did I. When it came to taking the photos he just fell apart I could see him getting more and more fustrated, I had trained him for every eventuality but he just lost it. After he went missing for about 2 hours, when he turned up he said he had messed it up because the batteries in the camera where flat, when I took hold of the camera it had full power and I spent the whole evening taking photos with it around 250 shots with flash. I was OK about things but he was so embarrassed he stopped talking to me. So I think that I would have got a pro photographer to do it if I did it again because its not worth loosing a friend over, and not getting the photos.
